WordPress MU – WPMU

In this section, I will post various information that may be useful to hosts using WordPress MU (or WPMU). Although my main blog is in french, this section will be written in english, because most of WPMU users aren’t french, and those who are are very likely to understand english without too many difficulties.

This section will be primarily focussed on performance aspects of running large or very popular WordPress MU installations, although maybe sometimes I will digress to other topics. The information presented here has been gained from the experience of running unblog.fr , an intensively modified version of WPMU, which happens to be, as far as I’m aware, the second largest WPMU installation in terms of number of users worldwide after wordpress.com itself. Our company also provides consulting and development services in helping companies running other large MU instances.

Happy reading and happy tuning !

Here are the various sections :

1. Caching in WordPress MU.

1.1 Database query cache.

1.2 PHP Op-code cache

1.3 WordPress object cache

1.4 WP-Cache

1.5 Reverse proxy caching
